COMMUNITY AFFAIRS
The Community Affairs Committee is off and running this fraternity year. To date we have several projects with great success. These projects include:
Adopt-A-Highway - October 19, 2007 - May 2008 Christmas toy drop-in at Sharehead Starts - December 20, 2007 Serving Seniors Thanksgiving Dinner in conjunction with the Phillis Wheatley Center -November 20, 2007 Adopt-A-Highway
The chapter is actively involved with SC Dept. of Transportation's Adopt-A-Highway program. The Chapter is responsible the cleaning up of a designated two mile stretch of highway in Greenville County. The chapter was assigned to Frontage Road of I-85, between Augusta Road And White Horse Road. This year on October 19, 2007 we held our second Kappa Klean-Up of the year. Many bags of litter were collected and bagged. About three to four hours were spent cleaning the highway. The day was well received by the brothers and some area residents.Christmas toy drop-in at Sharehead Starts
On December 20, 2007, the Greenville Alumni Chapter helped to provide toys to those less fortunate children in the community. The event was held from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Sharehead Starts. The age ranges were from four to nine years old, including boys and girls. Several brothers were present to hand out toys provided from the chapter. The event was well received by the children and they were very appreciative of the gifts from the KAPPA's.
