Guide Right
Guide Right is a mentoring program conducted by Chapters of Kappa Alpha Psi all over the world. The objective of guide right is to provide leadership and assistance to youth of the communities we serve.
The primary purpose of Guide Right from its inception in the 1920’s has been to provide scholarships to worthy and talented students, and the development of leadership skills.
The Greenville Guide Right Program has been recognized nationally and, has captured the provincial guide right award in 1996, 1997 And 1999!
Guide Right Programs being conducted currently by the Greenville Alumni Chapter include:
MEN’S DAYS of READING
at Sirrine ElementaryBrothers of the Greenville Alumni Chapter read to students in grades 1-3 once per week. The positive interaction with the students has greatly benefited the school and the students.
MEN’S MORNING OUT-BREAKFAST
at Greenview ElementaryBrothers of Kappa Alpha join other mentors in the community including educators, clergymen and other professionals to have breakfast with the students at Greenview Elementary. The purpose of this program is to increase the involvement of males in the children's education.
VIOLENCE PREVENTION WORKSHOP
at Greenville Technical CollegeThis is an annual program for the Greenville Alumni Chapter. Each year enrichment activities are provided to approximately 200 young people in grades 4-8. Activities included a workshop on violence prevention, self-esteem, conflict resolution, leadership development and decision making.
KAPPA KICKS and Unity Sports Inc
Brothers of Kappa Alpha Phi attend soccer games that are run by Unity Sport Inc. Chapter members provide emotional support as well as refreshments.
